RECORDERS
Interface

I use Audient ID22 because of its pristine AD/DA conversion and have enough I/O for various applications such as stereo recording and surround monitoring.

Converter

I use Ross Martin PCM4222 AD Converter for high quality conversion from Analog-to-Digital domain. This converter gives extra depth to my overall sound.

Monitor Speaker

I trusted these modified Yamaha HS50m because I have been using it for 5 years already and it has produced wonders and perfectly pointed out the flaws in my mix. Especially when monitoring voice for commercial and film.

STUDIOS

I remember in those days when I started to indulge myself in audio engineering, I only have a cheap sound card and a cheap yamaha guitar. I would be plugging my guitar straight to the sound card with all the ground noise and hums, then I record using Guitar Rig 3 vst. But Now it's a different story, the money that I got by doing a lot of freelance projects(as well as my salary from previous works) spent well for recording equipments and room acoustic modification since then. It's been 10 years since I first started but my love for music and audio never faded, it became stronger as time passes by. I become solely attached to music and the ways to improve its quality.

INPUT STAGE
Mic Preamplifier

Along this years I have used various mic preamplifiers but my latest preamp, Summit Audio 2ba-221 is by far the best I've used. Because the flexibility to mix between solid state gain and tube gain made it very versatile and it really helps to give your mix more character.

Tubes

Recently I've been collecting tube from NOS to NIB. I have 3 main tubes that I use for different recording applications. The ARS tube(stock) mainly used for instruments because of the recessed mids and chimey highs, Bugera tube mainly used for vocals because of its saturation and mid presence, Raytheon Baldwin for darker tones.

Dynamics
I'm a big fan of dynamic mics because of its character and fast attack. The impact of the sound created from dynamic microphones gave a great warmth especially for vocals. I'm against the idea that condenser mics should sound better, it's a matter of application and preferences.

Collection

SM58, Samson Q8, Heil Mic The Fin, KAM RT1

MICROPHONES
Gears

Behringer VT100FX is my main guitar amplifier, as well as Joyo for delay and distortion. I used to have a DI box from Behringer but since I get the 2ba-221, I don't need that anymore.

OUTBOARD GEAR
The Reliable HS50m

When it comes to main monitoring, I use HS50m because of its ability to 'speak the truth'. I love it when the speaker reveals more of what I should be improving rather than made it sound deceivably flattering.

Tracking

Apart from HS50m which is my main monitor, I used the cheap but extraordinarily sounding closed-back headphone, Gatt HP-7, it is also used as a tracking headphone.

Bass Control

What HS50m can't do? Yes, without the woofer, HS50m can't translate the lower frequency as tight as possible. I use Pioneer HDJ-1000, I can hear the bass clearly.

MONITORING
SONAR X3

My main weapon. I feel invincible when entering this domain. I can do everything from tracking to mastering without any worries. Sonar has obvious advantage in terms of audio quality over other DAWs. For me it's the perfect tool for audio producers.

Pro Tools 10

It's the industry standard Pro Tools 10. The bussing system is clean and excellent! And it has subtle sound and hardly clipping. What goes through this DAW always sound acceptable. This is my mainstream weapon.

VSTs

Without a bullet the gun is useless, so as a DAW without VSTs. I'm mainly using Sonar which use VSTs as its main plugin and it has become a signature to me. Even in Pro Tools I imported VSTs plugin that I can't live without when mixing

SOFTWARE
Guitar

My love for audio started from playing this instrument called guitar. Without it, it's impossible for me to be here writing this portfolio because a guitar that made my love for music then eventually audio engineering.

I have played several guitar through the years such as Yamaha, Edwards, LTD. But my main weapon is Epiphone Les Paul Custom modded because it can go single coil tone to humbucker. Means I can record everything from slow pop songs to heavy metal. A great all-in-one tool.

Bass

My 2nd love after guitar is the bass. As I started playing bass listening to the legendary Flea, I always explore the bass sound and its importance to the overall mix. At my studio we have Epiphone Thunderbird Custom(White) and Fender P-Bass(Japan).

Keyboard and Synth

I've played keyboard as long as I played guitar though it's not my main instrument, I always play it as it can make many sounds from Piano, Orchestra, SFX and Synth. I use a 49keys midi controller triggering Kontakt 5 as my sampling software.
